HTP/HNB Flavour Ban Backgroud | Why You Need FiltSe HTP Flavor Stick
The EU HTP flavor ban came into effect on November 23, 2022. EU member states must transpose the rule into national legislation by July 23, 2023. For details, please check this official EU page.
According to PMI’s 2023 annual report, PMI’s shipments in Europe reached at least 21.8 billion units. If 70% of consumers choose flavored HTPs, the gap in flavored HTPs will reach 15.26 billion units.
Although Big Tobacco has launched tobacco-free flavored sticks, such as LEVIA (PMI), VEO (BAT), iSenzia (IMB), most consumers are dissatisfied because they do not experience the tobacco flavor. Consumers still miss flavored tobacco sticks.
There aren’t many surveys on the popularity of HTP flavours. Here is a 2022 online survey provided by Japanese media. The reporter conducted a questionnaire survey on 1,000 IQOS 3 Duo / Multi users from all over Japan. The report shows:
72% of Japanese IQOS 3 Duo / Multi users choose the flavour with menthol.

Compared with traditional tobacco, HTP may not meet the needs of users due to the inherent tobacco odor defect of HTP. 66%-72% of HTP users prefer products with characteristic flavour and menthol taste.
HTP relies heavily on characteristic flavours and menthol flavours. The demand for next-generation, easy-to-use, affordable HTP flavoring accessories is likely to be strong.
What are FiltSe HTP Flavor Sticks?
FiltSe HTP Flavor stick is a new type of accessory, which provides filtration (filtering tar and tobacco oil) and external flavoring to reduce the hazardous substances of HTPs and enhance the inhaling experience.
The FiltSe HTP flavor stick is composed of two layers of high-density PET fiber cotton, a high-concentration flavor capsules, and self-developed anti-oil seepage special paper tube. The shelf life is 2 years. All materials are of food contact grade.
The hollow bottom structure makes it easy to put on the HTP stick, which not only increases the flavor, but also maintains the appearance.
At present, more than 20 flavors have been developed. Single pack of 20 sticks. Available flavors include mint, blueberry, orange, strawberry and grape. We also developed mixed flavor products, such as Plum Soda, Mango Peach and so on.
How to use FiltSe HTP Flavor Sticks?
Step 1:
Insert the HTP stick, such as TEREA, HEETS, into the heating device as usual.
Step 2:
Take the flavor stick (filter) out of the pack.
Step 3:
Put the flavor stick (filter) on the HTP stick, pinch or bite through the capsule, start the heating device and then enjoy it.
After well connecting FiltSe flavour stick and HTP, pinch the capsule, and you can taste about 20 puffs. You will be incredibly satisfied by the rich fruity aroma and sufficient menthol.

High Concentration Flavor Capsule
- Extreme Concentration: 80% selected flavor raw materials + 20% edible solvent are used to reach the minimum solvent limit of capsules. Its concentration is twice that of ordinary capsules. Concentration can be customized.
- Large Size: 3.8mm large size capsules are used, which are about 50% larger than ordinary capsules available in the market. With the high concentration, 1 FiltSe capsule equals 3 ordinary capsules.
Self-developed Anti-seepage Paper
- Long-term Anti-seepage: One of the difficulties in the design of capsule-type filter products is anti-seepage. Similar filter products will leak oil during use, which will affect the perception and experience. FiltSe uses the self-developed gold medal anti-seepage paper tube, which can prevent the penetration of the capsule liquid, and the effective time can reach 2 hours.
Ultra-long shelf life
- The storage time of FiltSe flavor sticks is as long as 2 years, and the products are not susceptible to moisture deterioration. This is suitable for long distance transportation.
The product has passed the third-party inspection and is safe and guaranteed
According to the testing standard GB 4806.8-2016, the filter cotton was tested and passed the test, and lead, arsenic, formaldehyde, heavy metals, and E. coli were not detected. Fluorescent substances are negative.
According to the testing standard GB 41700-2022 “Electronic Cigarette”, capsules passed the test, and 2-3-butanedione, heavy metals, and arsenic were not detected. The capsule filter passes the test, the formaldehyde and acetaldehyde are below the limit, and acrolein and 2-3-butanedione were not detected.
